At Pink Frog, we believe in providing diverse work experience opportunities in various departments within our social enterprise.
We understand that hands-on experience in a real workplace environment is invaluable for individuals to develop a range of skills and gain confidence.
Participants of our programme have the opportunity to gain work experience in departments such as administration, warehousing, customer service, online sales, bike maintenance, logistics, gardening, and D.I.Y. This allows them to explore different areas of interest and enhance their skill set in a practical manner.
In addition to work experience, we also prioritise the safety and well-being of our participants. As our staff team undergoes training updates, our participants will be included in courses such as fire training, first aid, health and safety. This ensures that they receive essential knowledge and skills related to safety protocols and emergency situations, further enhancing their overall development.
At Pink Frog, we are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters both personal and professional growth. We continuously strive to provide meaningful work experience and comprehensive training opportunities that prepare individuals for future employment and success.
We understand the importance of providing supported placements that cater to the individual needs of individuals. Our work experience and qualification programs not only focus on the specific skills and knowledge but also aim to develop important soft skills and provide additional support in other areas.
Here are some of the key features and benefits of our supported placements:
- Soft Skill Development: Our programs prioritise the development of essential soft skills such as team working, communication skills, timekeeping, and independent working. We believe that these skills are crucial for success in any workplace environment.
- Confidence Building: Through practical experience and personalised support, we help individuals gain confidence in their abilities. We create a nurturing environment that encourages them to step out of their comfort zone and acquire new skills.
- Understanding of Workplace Responsibility: We ensure that individuals understand their responsibilities as both employees and employers. We teach them about workplace ethics, professionalism, and the importance of taking ownership of their work.
- IT and Internet Skills: We also focus on developing IT and internet skills. Using laptops for studying, we help individuals improve their proficiency in these areas, which are essential for success in the modern workforce.
- Travel Training: We offer low to medium level travel training, understanding the importance of navigating public transportation systems to access employment opportunities and travel to and from the workplace.
- Person-Centred Learning: Our programs are tailored to each individual’s needs, interests, and abilities. We adopt a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is actively engaged and motivated throughout their journey.
- Small Functional Skills Lessons: We maintain small group sizes of around six students per group to provide individual attention and maximise learning outcomes. This allows for focused instruction and targeted support in functional skills such as English and Maths.
- Individual Support: We pride ourselves on providing a high level of individual, one-to-one support from our trained staff members. We recognise that every person has unique requirements, and our dedicated team ensures that they receive the attention they need to thrive.
By offering a holistic approach to learning and personal development, our supported placements at Pink Frog empower people to become valuable members of the workforce, equipped with a range of essential skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen career paths.
At Pink Frog, we understand the value of recognised training and qualifications in enabling individuals to enhance their skills and improve their career prospects. While we currently offer training through the Open University, we have plans to deliver qualifications through City & Guilds in the future.
Through the Open University individuals will have access to 1000’s of courses including money & business, health, sports & psychology, history & the arts, languages, nature & environment to name a few. As the programme is person centred the course and level of study will be determined by the individual. These courses have no start or end date so they can be accessed at the rate the individual feels confident.
City & Guilds offers courses across various subjects at different levels of study including entry levels 1 & 2, vocational pathways and purpose and recognition in personal and social skills.
At the moment, we acknowledge that we do not have the minimum number of students required to invest in offering City & Guilds courses. However, we are continuously exploring opportunities to expand our offerings and provide a wider range of qualifications to our participants.
In the meantime, we remain committed to providing high-quality training and work experience that focuses on developing essential skills. We believe that gaining practical experience and skills in the field can be equally valuable for individuals seeking employment opportunities.
We will keep you updated on any developments regarding our partnership with City & Guilds and the availability of their qualifications at Pink Frog.
